South Lodge is situated in Lower Beeding near Horsham in Sussex and is a great place to unwind, get away from the busyness of everyday life and relax.
Built in 1883 this former family country house has 89 bedrooms, all have hand made mattresses, one or two baths and some even have open-air, bubbling hot tubs.
In 2019 the spa opened its doors and offers an infinity pool, wild swimming pool, infused sauna, herbal steam room and state of the art gym equipment.
Set within a 93-acre estate, you can take a picnic into the gardens or kick back by the lake, then go for a stroll or hire mountain bikes to explore the grounds.
There are a few dining choices too which offer fresco dining in the summer months, a cellar with lighter bites and 200 wines to choose from and food cooked by Tom Kemble at The Pass, which has 3 AA Rosettes and is situated in the heart of the kitchen enabling diners to see first hand the creativity and theatre of a busy restaurant team. Here they do an 8-course tasting menu with wine pairing. You watch the chefs prepare the food in the kitchen, then they bring it out to you and tell you what it is. If you choose the wine pairing option, the wine waiters bring with them a bottle of wine which compliments the dish. It’s a bit fancy.
For anyone looking for a little treat after a busy year, why not book yourself in, you will not be disappointed.
