Ludham Bridge to Horning

Day 2 starts off early with a bit of panic, as we have become detached from the mooring peg at the back and are sticking out in the middle of the water way. After getting a little help from the same guy that moored us up the night before, it was off up the footpath to the bridge. Getting the two old grannies off and on the boat is great fun, with the potential for serious injury at every point. The road to the bridge is uneven, muddy and a bit slippery, but we all manage to get there in one piece. There is not much going on, just a little shop a café and a water mooring point, which we decided to tackle on the way back. We picked up some biscuits, a fridge magnet and a bottle of Norfolk cider from the shop and headed back to the boat.

We made a cup of tea and looked at the map. Our next destination was Horning. All of us were involved in the driving this time and we had great fun meandering down the water ways at around 4mph. Very relaxing with plenty to see on the way. The sun was shining too, which made it 10 times better. There are some lovely properties as you come into Horning and we also catch sight of our first pub, the Swann Inn. With some expert parking by the wife, it’s time to head out for a orange juice and lemonade and a wander around. Its a very nice little town which I am sure gets very busy in the summer months. After a quick gander its back to the boat for dinner. Its a good spread with plenty for everyone. Pizza, salad and booze goes down well and its early to bed.
