XO19 is an annual celebration of all things Xbox and for the first time in its history, it (finally) came to London. Running from November 14th – 17th at the Copper Box Arena in London the event arrived and it did not disappoint the fans.
24 playable games including the new Flight Simulator (Microsoft), Bleeding Edge by (Ninja Theory), Doom Eternal (id Software), Minecraft Dungeons (Mojang Studios/Xbox Studios), Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (Respawn Entertainment) and Grounded (Obsidian Entertainment) were some of the most anticipated.
With massive give-aways and competitions, free beta code handouts, free game pass tokens, goody bags at game booths, world first game announcements and hands on with the new Project xCloud game streaming service, there was much to see and do at this XO19.
All this was set against the backdrop of a live stream of Inside Xbox which was on the main stage, where Larry (aka Major Nelson) was shipped in from the US to do the hosting and the interviews all streamed lived on Mixer and Xbox social media channels.
There was also an on-site Xbox Official Gear Store featuring exclusive XO19 gear you could not buy anywhere else. Customised XO19 controllers (limited to 1 per person), XO19 t-shirts, jackets, pin badges, stickers and even custom Nike air trainers, with an XO19 London colourway.
The star of the show was the new AAA rated game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which was due to be released in the next few weeks. Every now and then you would see a bunch of storm troopers and inquisitors walking around the show, with fans having the opportunity to have their picture taken with them.
There was even an appearance of your adorable companion in the game, BD-1.
The tickets for the day were split with a morning session and an afternoon session. We ended up going for both and spent the whole day there.
Tickets are very reasonably priced at £19 per session with all the proceeds from the ticket sales going to charity. Nice one Xbox!
