Is there a better way to see the Lyngen Alps than by snowmobile? We booked this excursion via the information centre in the centre of Tromso. The tour operator was Green gold of Norway.

We met at a hotel in the town centre and were driven out of the city to the south and then east, where we had a short ferry crossing at Breivikeidet Fergekai. The ferry crossing was around 25 minutes and there was a cafĂ© on board serving up waffles, pastries and hot and cold drinks. After getting off the ferry it was another 25 minutes in a cab to Francisco’s house to get kitted up and go through some safety procedures.

If you don’t have your own kit, they provide everything you need, boots, helmets, gloves and super warm onsies. The kit was clean and well maintained as were all the snowmobiles the snowmobiles looked brand new. We were very impressed.

After that it was off on a 2.5 hour safari up into the alps. The weather was clear, the air was fresh and the views were amazing. A great way to spend the final day of our visit to Norway and an experience we will never forget.
